Our training programs listed below equip and empower volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to step in and serve families when disaster strikes. Basic Disaster Response
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Colossians 3:23
An introduction to disaster response for new and seasoned volunteers. Learn the foundations of disaster response, including safety, teamwork, communication, how to muck out a home, tarping and what to expect on deployment. This training helps you feel confident stepping onto the field for the first time or returning after a time away.
Chainsaw Safety
“The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life.” Psalm 121:7
Many disaster zones are filled with downed trees and debris. The Chainsaw Safety Training reviews proper safety practices, maintenance, and usage of chainsaws so volunteers can help clear storm damage safely and effectively. Participants receive hands on training, learn how to analyze trees under pressure and review unique scenarios teams encounter during a response.
Disaster Assessments
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
After a disaster, it’s important to assess needs quickly and accurately. This training equips and empowers volunteers to evaluate property damage, document needs, and communicate with teams to ensure resources are used wisely. Assessors help evaluate and prioritize survivor needs to effectively match teams with skills needed to assist.
Spiritual & Emotional Care
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
Disasters don’t just destroy physical property, they shake lives. Our Spiritual and Emotional Care team provides compassionate listening, prayer, and emotional support to families walking through crisis and loss. Volunteers will learn how to be present, encouraging, and Christ-centered in difficult moments sharing the love of God during times of need.
